We are already in the Black Friday week, but it is not too late to give you some tips for getting the best deals this time around. Below are a few of them:
1. Compare prices on different websites
The first thing to check is if an offer really is as good as it sounds. Is the same game console available at an even better price elsewhere?
2. Don’t let the ‘normal price’ figures fool you
Shops often dress discounts up to look bigger than they really are. They do this by raising the price shortly before the sale and then place the sale price against this elevated standard price.
3. Compare the features too
If shoppers don’t know exactly what they want, it’s common to just buy up the biggest bargains during a sale. However, they may not be getting the best deal. Be sure to compare not just the prices but product features and characteristics of similar models.
4. Be prepared
Create a wish list of products (and features) you are interested in and try not to deviate from it too much. A good price on something you don’t need is not really a bargain. So watch out for sale-fever, it can be very costly.
5. It’s not just gadgets
People used to associate Black Friday with electronics, but that is no longer the case. In fact, many shops now discount their varying range of products just to benefit from the Black Friday rush. Everything is now on the table, take advantage of what you can afford to buy cheaply.
As always, please remember that if you don’t need it, don’t buy it. If you buy it, make sure can really afford to pay for it – now.
Happy shopping.Niyi Adeoshun
